The information pavilion in the Hollow Lane has been in existence since 2005. The existing technical facilities have reached the end of their service life. Against this background, the Foundation Board decided in spring 2024 to undertake a modernisation of the information pavilion. In particular, the scenography is to be replaced by a contemporary presentation.

A new presentation has been developed in collaboration with a specialist agency. The plan is to create an interactive, multimedia display that recounts and reflects on the story of William Tell and the impact of the Tell myth. The pavilion building itself will be retained, not least for reasons of sustainability.

Fundraising is currently underway among public authorities (federal government, cantons, municipalities), foundations, sponsors and private donors to finance this redesign. The Foundation for the Preservation of the Hohlen Gasse is itself contributing significantly to the realisation of this project. The opening of the newly designed pavilion is planned for spring 2027.

The system in the information pavilion has not been working for several weeks. Since then, the Hohlen Gasse administration has been working intensively with various experts to rectify the fault. Unfortunately, these efforts have so far been unsuccessful. Nevertheless, another attempt is being made to get the system up and running again.

The Foundation Board regrets the current situation, but is confident that the redesign of the information pavilion will once again create added value, particularly for Küssnacht and Swiss schoolchildren.
