The establishment of the foundation
With the intention of preserving the Hohle Gasse as a patriotic memorial and passing it on to descendants as an inalienable asset, on 16 August 1935, editor Emil Hess, as the authorised representative of Ringier & Cie. AG, Verlagsanstalt in Zofingen; Mr Ferdinand von Arx, Government Councillor in Solothurn, on behalf of Pro Campagna, Schweizerische Organisation für Landschaftspflege; and Mr Josef Ehrler, President of the Court in Küssnacht, as the authorised representative of the Tellskapelle Commission and the District Council of Küssnacht. Together they established the Foundation for the Preservation of the Hohle Gasse and had the founding deed notarised.
Purpose of the foundation
According to the foundation statutes of 1935, the Swiss Foundation for the Preservation of the Hohle Gasse has the purpose of permanently preserving the Hohle Gasse near Küssnacht am Rigi, including the Tell’s Chapel there, as a historical and patriotic site as a trustee of the Swiss School Youth.
Foundation President and Administrator
The Board of Trustees fulfils the purpose of the foundation on a daily basis on behalf of the school children. The Board of Trustees is chaired by State Archivist Valentin Kessler. The administrator of Hohle Gasse is Hanstoni Gamma, Küssnacht am Rigi.
